I visited Charleston, South Carolina last week. Not hard to see what inspired all those Civil War and Plantation epic movies and novels. The richness of the culture there is enough to create all the Gone With The Wind type stories for decades. Of all the places I have visited in the U.S. I think this is the most thought provoking.
Yet each part of our country has it’s own story to tell. The Yukon, the desert, the Rockies, the Black Hills and Yellowstone. What a smorgasbord of inspiration. I love to travel and have been blessed to see many places.
I often wonder what inspires most authors. Is it scenery, culture, people, sun or rain? What about you?
