Another week is done. I can’t believe it. Where does the time go? My mom warned me about this – you know – the older you get kind of thing. So life happens and you don’t get as much done on your MS as you hoped. It can be frustrating, but unless you hide yourself on a mountain somewhere, or flush your phone down the toilet, interruptions and distractions will take your time.
But that’s not my focus today. (see how distracted I get???) What I am struggling with today is how much historical content to put in my MS. I do have bits and bites of info thrown in here and there, but I havent really used up a lot of ink on historical facts and trivia. I have tried to describe the fashion trend when introducing a characters attire. I have looked up the factual topography and proper names and places. But I worry that it lacks authenticity.
For any of you who read Historical fiction, what do you like to see – more historical information, or would you rather just read the story without wading through all the history? Is just flavoring the book enough or do you like to have a strong burst of history?
