I looked at my calendar last week and about fainted. How do I get myself so booked up? I’ll be globe trotting all month (well, USA trotting)and I hope I am ready for it. It’s all going to be great, and I am so thankful for health and opportunity to travel. I have a son in law in the military so he and my daughter move all over the world. We have been blessed to visit them in North Carolina, Arizona, Seattle, Kansas and Germany. And it’s not over yet! We always knew, since she was a child, that she would not be the one to stay home. God prepared us long ago for letting her go. We are so fortunate to have the means to follow them around. I don’t like being a long distance Grandmother though. I like to be close enough to get lots of hugs and kisses.
Isn’t it great that God doesn’t move all over the place – expecting us to chase him around. He is always there in the same place, waiting for us to come to him. He doesn’t like distance either, and longs for intimacy with us. We don’t have to globe trot to follow him – all we have to do is listen to his voice. I like that. I’ll get to go where He is eventually, but it won’t be for just a visit.
Just to give a ray of hope to all you aspiring writers…my mentor, author friend is critiquing my first novel. I was sooooo encouraged yesterday when she emailed me to say that my writing has improved a lot and that she thought the book was really good so far. I was sure she was going to tell me to find some other line of work! I needed to hear my passion was not in vain. Going to keep pressing on.
