It’s my latest craft craze. I buy cheap, used shoes and paint them.
That first stroke of the brush was hard to do…
What if I don’t like it? What if I make a mistake? What if they looked better before?
It’s like that with my writing, or should I say re-writing. And I know it applies to other things we do in life. Covering up the old and familiar with something new can be scary. Deciding to go a different way with a scene or story plot is all part of the process of making the story better. Freshening up relationships or careers with a new attitude or effort might be just what you need.
Be brave, find joy in something new. Risk a new color. Dive into that story with boldness, daring to explore a new way of expression. It’s how we get better at what we do.
I can’t wait to put my new shoes on and let them take me somewhere in style.

Sassy footwear! Goodbye, Kansas; hello, Adventure!
Good word, Jan. Just the lift I needed this evening. Thanks!
