As I stood on my deck this evening reflecting on the days events, I noticed this sky. It seemed like a symbol of the emotional turmoil some of my loved ones experienced today. Important news revealed to all brought relief and satisfaction, yet at the same time, sorrow and pain. Life is often like that sky.
For my loved ones today it was like storm clouds building, darkness wanting to overtake, old hurts closing in, new hurts cloaking the joy that should be theirs.
But the sun is always there, shining in the background. It has to shine, it’s bigger than this life and it’s trials.
But we forget it’s there, we forget what it was like to bask in its warmth and gather strength from it’s energy–until it peeks through the clouds, begging to be noticed and longing to shine on us the brightness we need so much. We only need to look up and remember.
Remember the Son is always there too. He longs to shine on our darkness, warm us, comfort us and remind us that He is bigger than all our sorrows.
We only need to look up, beyond our circumstances, past our dark pain. There is joy to be found, even when the clouds cover us. We don’t have to wait very long and the light peeks through.
Because the sun/Son is always there.
